What is the enrollment process like?
The enrollment process begins with a tour of our facility, followed by completing necessary registration forms. Health & Safety
Are your staff members CPR and First Aid certified?
Yes, all our staff are required to be certified in both Pediatric First Aid and CPR, and we regularly update these certifications. We also provide ongoing training in health and safety protocols to ensure we are prepared for any emergency situations. This training is a critical part of our commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for your child.
What are your safety and security measures?
Safety is our top priority. Our center is equipped with secure entry systems, and only authorized individuals are allowed to pick up children. We perform regular safety drills for fire and other emergencies, and our staff are trained in emergency preparedness. Additionally, we have strict protocols for playground and classroom safety to minimize risks.
What is your policy on sick children?
For the well-being of all children and staff, we have a strict sick child policy. If your child has a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or any contagious illness, we ask that they stay home until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication. If your child becomes ill during the day, we will notify you immediately for pick-up. We follow health department guidelines to manage illnesses.
How do you handle allergies or special dietary needs?
We take allergies and dietary restrictions very seriously. When you enroll, you’ll be asked to complete a form detailing any allergies or specific dietary needs your child has. We work closely with parents and our kitchen staff to ensure that your child’s food is safe and nutritious. If your child requires medication like an EpiPen, we ensure that staff are trained in its use.
What happens in case of an emergency?
In the event of an emergency, our staff follow detailed safety protocols and are trained in emergency response procedures. We conduct regular drills for fire, weather, and other situations to ensure everyone knows what to do. Parents are immediately notified of any emergencies, and we maintain open lines of communication throughout. We also have emergency contact forms for each child that are kept updated.
Parent Communication & Involvement
How do you communicate with parents about their child’s day?
We believe in keeping parents informed and involved. Daily reports are sent home through for younger children, detailing their meals, naps, and activities. For older children, we provide regular updates through the Procare App. Parent-teacher conferences may also be set up to see how your child is progressing.
Can I visit or observe my child during the day?
Yes, we have an open-door policy for parents to visit or observe their children during the day. However, we ask that you coordinate with us in advance to ensure your visit does not disrupt the children’s routine. We also offer virtual check-ins through secure camera access if available. Regular communication with parents is essential to us, and we encourage involvement in your child’s learning experience.
Child Development & Behavior Management
How do you support children transitioning into a new daycare environment?
We understand that starting daycare can be a big change for both children and parents. Our team works closely with families to ensure a smooth and comforting transition. This includes gradually introducing your child to the classroom, offering plenty of emotional support, and maintaining open communication with you throughout the process. Our goal is to make your child feel safe, secure, and excited about their new environment.
How do you manage potty training?
We work with parents to support potty training efforts. Our staff are trained to assist children in the process, offering encouragement and celebrating progress. Please let us know when your child is ready, and we will collaborate to make the transition as smooth as possible.
How do you handle discipline or behavior issues?
We use positive discipline techniques, focusing on redirection and teaching problem-solving skills. We believe in setting clear, consistent boundaries while maintaining a nurturing and supportive environment. If a child is struggling with behavior, we will work closely with parents to develop strategies that reinforce positive behavior both at home and in the center. We do not use any form of corporal punishment.
Staff Qualifications
What qualifications or training do your teachers have?
Our teachers have a range of qualifications, always meeting or exceeding requirements set by state licensing. They also undergo continuous professional development, attending workshops and training sessions throughout the year. In addition, all staff are trained in child development, classroom management, and curriculum planning. This ensures a high-quality learning environment for every child. We provide tuition reimbursement and pay for other continuing education to encourage our staff to gain credentials or degrees in Early Childhood Education.
What is your staff-to-child ratio?
We adhere to state licensing guidelines, which vary by age group. Ratios gradually increase as children get older. For example, in infants, our ratio is typically 1:3, and for toddlers, it’s 1:5. Maintaining these ratios ensures personalized attention and a safe environment for every child. We also have additional staff available for support when needed.
Daily Routines & Activities
Is there a daily schedule or routine my child will follow?
Yes, we follow a structured daily routine that includes time for learning, play, meals, naps, and outdoor activities. The schedule is designed to provide a balance between structured learning and free play, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs. We post the daily schedule in each classroom so parents can see what their child will be doing throughout the day.
What is the curriculum used for teaching and activities?
We follow a research-based curriculum designed to support children’s development across multiple areas—social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. The curriculum includes hands-on learning, structured play, and individualized activities to meet each child’s needs. Our goal is to create a fun and educational environment that prepares children for their next steps in learning. We also integrate regular assessments to track progress and adjust learning experiences as needed.
Do you provide meals and snacks, or do I need to pack them?
We provide nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, following state guidelines for child nutrition. All meals are prepared in accordance with dietary needs, and we accommodate allergies and special requests. Parents are welcome to pack meals if they prefer. A monthly menu is provided so you can see what your child will be eating each day.
Do you provide outdoor playtime or field trips?
Yes, outdoor play is a key part of our daily routine. Children have access to safe, supervised outdoor play areas, weather permitting. We also offer occasional field trips to local parks or educational venues, with signed parental permission required. These trips are carefully planned to enrich your child’s learning experience while keeping safety a priority.
